Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy combines in-depth knowledge of the human body and how it works with specialized, hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and treat various injuries. The most common goals are to eliminate pain, improve function and optimize performance. This is achieved with a treatment plan that addresses the root cause of the condition, and by providing treatment in the form of manual therapy, exercise prescription, physical modalities, lifestyle modification and education. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare professionals. We are experts at addressing musculoskeletal injuries, such as shoulder injuries, back and neck pain, knee, elbow and ankle pain. Regardless of whether they were from daily life, a sports injury, or a motor vehicle accident.

Acupuncture, IMS, or Dry Needling
It is one of the most widely utilized forms of alternative therapy in the Canada and the US. Acupuncture needles are most often inserted at specific locations on the skin called acupuncture points. These points are located on specific lines outlined by tradition, referred to as meridians or channels. According to Chinese medical theory, there are 14 major meridians that form an invisible network connecting the body surface with the internal organs. Meridians are to conduct Qi, the energy or vital force of the body. IMS or Dry needling techniques are used to relieve tightness, release trigger points and address sesitzed structures to help resolve the pain.

Pelvic floor treatment is a specialized branch of therapy involving internal and external assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor muscles. Those muscles are located between the hip bones and the sacrum, and they serve as a bowl to support the pelvic organs including the bladder, colon and uterus.
Patients can recieve treatment for a bladder or bowel problem, a prolapse, pelvic pain, or pregnancy related pain as well as difficulties with sexual intercourse

Real Time Ultrasound (coming soon!)
Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show various structures and soft tissues as well as blood flow thru vessels. A sound head produced a high frequency sound wave that bounces back off the tissues and produces an image. The different densities of the tissue produce a different reflection and thus we are able to differentiate the different layers and types of tissue – muscle, connective tissue, fluid or bone.

PRP Therapy
Plasma is the liquid part of your blood that’s mostly made of water and protein. It lets red and white blood cells and platelets move through your bloodstream. We may use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on injuries or damage to tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints, and skin.
To collect plasma, a nurse practitioner draws blood from your body and uses a machine to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. Then we numb the area of your body being treated with PRP injections. Once you’re numb, the nurse injects the platelets into the area being treated. Where upon, they break down and release growth factors that help cells repair and renew.
